1 ) English, circa 1905 reverse intaglio Royal Mail gold set coaching brooch
English, circa 1905 reverse intaglio Royal Mail coaching gold set brooch. The coach at speed, with passenger up, wearing the correct Royal Mail livery, black with red door and lower panels, and Post Office red wheels. Mother of pearl backed. Marked to the reverse “18” carat, and assayed to the pin. English 1905.

2 ) A 14 carat gold reverse intaglio crystal Baume & Mercier hunting watch bracelet.
A bracelet with a Baume & Mercier of Geneva gold watch, set either side with reverse intaglio crystals of hunters jumping white picket fences, then stirrups and associated tack. Possibly commissioned through / for "The Crossroads of Sport Inc New York". Marked to the reverse “14k”. Swiss / English / America circa 1960’s.

A late 19th century reverse intaglio crystal coaching / carriage / four in hand gold brooch. The coach wearing Royal Mail livery, black with red door and lower panels and Post Office red wheels. Mounted within a very fine rope beaded gold setting. English, 1880

5 ) Reverse Intaglio Crystal brooch of two horses heads set in gold.
Marked to the reverse 'Dorothy Cooksey Marcus Xmas 1909' The brooch is further stamped 'Marcus & co', the mark of the highly respected New York jewellery firm, Marcus & Company. Dorothy Cooksey Marcus came to England in 1912, deserting her husband and children claiming her affection were grater for her horses and dogs than her family. It was interestingly reported in The New York Times of 19th August 1915. Reverse intaglio crystals are commonly and erroneously often called Essex Crystals.

A reverse Intaglio crystal stock pin brooch of jockey up jumping hedge fence. The jockey's colours specifically distinguishable and the horse name written within the crystal 'Brise-Tout II'. Brise-Tout II was a French hurdler running circ 1925. Reverse intaglio crystals are commonly and erroneously often called Essex Crystals.
