An 18 carat gold brooch of two seated Cairn Terriers retailed by "Garrard The Crown Jewellers". One dog wears a platinum collar, both have platinum details to eyes and noses. Assayed London 1968, 18 carat and signed "G & Co", Garrard & Co Ltd. This brooch comes with it original box "Garrard The Crown Jewellers" bearing the royal warrant "By Appointment to H M The Queen Goldsmiths & Crown Jewellers Garrard & Co Ltd". 22.2gms

A preparatory drawing for a published work or periodical such as The Illustrated London News or The Sketch for whom Aldin illustrated. This Sealyham in light-hearted humorous pose was clearly modelled / inspired by Aldin’s Sealyham Terrier neighbour, ‘Slickerson’, when the artist was living in Reading. Aldin famously remarked that ‘Slickerson’ spent most of his upright and begging by the front door until he was let in. 11 x 7 ¾ inches

14 ) Print by Christopher Gifford Ambler (b.1886) and titled "HE, SHE AND THE HUSSY".
Coloured print, on plate sunk mounts, by Christopher Gifford Ambler and titled "HE, SHE AND THE HUSSY". The others being "Ceaser's Wife, "Ishmael" and "Who's top dog now". It is one of four of a Bull Terrier series published by Illustrated Newspapers Ltd.in 1935, and marketed through "The Tatler" then at a price of "5/-". Copies pencil signed by the artist Christopher Gifford Ambler were "10/-". The titles being "Ceaser's Wife, "Ishmael" and "Who's top dog now".

To the reverse the artist has written possible titles in ink “Patience” or “Ye’ll no be much longer?”, or “Not guilty, Miss us” and in pencil Isn’t Love Wonderful” suggesting the work was published. A “Marble Hill Gallery 72 Richmond Road Twickenham Middx” label to the reverse reads “C Ambler. The Two Friends, pencil and coloured mashes, heightened with white. Lived in Buckhurst Hill Esses , Exhibited two works at the Royal Academy between 1912-1914.” With stock number “P926ms”.
