“La Foret” an elegant hammered and patinated black wrought iron fire screen with openwork decoration depicting leaping wild boar and dear amongst an interlacing foliage of oak leaves and acorns. The decoration edged by Brandt’s Assyrian scrollwork. Stamped “E Brandt”. French, circa 1925.

Both draped oak leaves and acorns, the two arms similarly decorated. One depicts a boar’s / sanglier head, the other a stag / cerf. French, circa 1880.

A 19th century Versailles / Medici shaped Vase Sarreguemines Majolica boar head vase. The heads surround by oak leaves and acorns, the vase similarly decorated with oak leaves and acorns and the interior of the vase is of sky blue colour typical of the production of the Sarreguemines factory at this time. It bears the Sarreguemines Majolica mark and “909” hollow under cover. In “Guide de l'amateur des faïences de Sarreguemines” by Emile Decker and Christian Thevenin, number 909 is the ‘Versailles Vase’ French, circa 1886

A rare set of eight boar motif walnut and leather chairs by renowned London makers Maples & Co. With French Baroque stretchers spring leather seats, and leather backs. The backs with central motif of a boar’s head set amongst vine leaves and grapes. Incised with the maker’s mark “MAPLES & CO” and catalogue number “25580”, and further label: DRUCE & CO., Upholsterers, cabinet Makers, & C., 68, 69, & 58, BAKER STREET PORTMAN SQUARE” Druce & Co were renowned antique furniture cabinet makers and furniture restorers based in Baker street London. They would make, upholster and restore furniture for the wealthy clientele throughout the Victorian era.Druce & Co
