A rare rectangular gold and guilloch brooch of two Pointers in the field. The enamel mounted in an Etruscan revival gold frame of delicate gold wire turned in swirling rosettes in the manner of such Jewellers as Castellani, Edwin Streeter and Fontenay. English, Circa 1870. Possibly inspired by Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (English 1802 - 1873), 1820 painting, "Pointers, To Ho! To Ho!". English, Circa 1870. Enamel miniature set as a gold pendant of “Grip” the Skye Terrier, by William Bishop Ford (English 1832-1922). Popularised by James Bateman’s (English, 1815-1849) painting and subsequent engraving published by Lloyd Brothers & Co., in 1848. English, circa 1865. A similar pendant of this enamel by William Bishop Ford (1832-1922) was previously in the Commendatore Melville A Jamieson loaned to the Victoria & Albert Museum around 1929.

Muntjac deer gold mounted enamel stick pin, by William Bishop Ford (English, 1832-1922). Signed and dated to the reverse "W B Ford 1889" . Muntjacs were introduced into England at the end of the nineteenth century by the Duke of Bedford. The Reeve's Muntjac was named after John Reeves, who was an inspector with the East India Tea Company in 1812.
