(English, 1785 – 1851). The coach wearing the correct Royal Mail livery, black with red door and lower panels, Post Office red wheels, and The Royal Coat of Arms on the door. The reverse bears stencilled Christie’s number N 843 to the reverse. English, circa 1830.

The coach wearing the correct Royal Mail livery, black with red door and lower panels, Post Office red wheels, and The Royal Coat of Arms on the door with the name of the town at the end of the coach’s route. The reverse bears ink label “Coaching Scene A Alken Sen. Very rare old painting. Horses - "doing Collar work" up the hill”. Monogrammed and dated on the milestone “1815”. English, 1815.

The reverse bears “Frost and Reed” label with “Registered Number 35 29”, and referencing ‘Registered Number 35 30’, recording it was once one of a pair. The reverse bears a later label for “Daniel Rees . . Fine Art Dealer . . Jackson Michigan”. English, circa 1890.

A rare English ‘Crystallo-Ceramie’ / ‘sulphide’ cameo four-in-hand coaching / carriage gold set brooch. ‘Crystallo-Ceramie’ / ‘sulphide’ jewellery was patented in 1831 by the glassmaker Apsley Pellatt. Such jewellery was very fashionable in the 1830’s and 1840’s. English circa 1840.

The carriage with four wheels, two movable and wearing platinum tyres. The swingle tree acting as a safety clasp. The carriage door is adorned with a heraldic swan. English circa 1890.

The coach is depicted speeding along a dusty country road, passing a milestone at the brow of a hill. The coach wears the correct Royal Mail livery of a black with red door and lower panels, and Post Office red wheels. Signed and dated lower left “J.F. Herring 1839”. To the reverse remnants of gallery label for Thomas Agnew & Sons. English, 1839.
