A standing King Charles Cavalier Spaniel unusually wearing a Poodle cut. Scrolling floral bas holds amethyst seal depicting a lion balancing on one leg surrounded by seven stars within a shield, a similar lion balances on the top of the shield.

An oil on panel of a Blenheim King Charles Spaniel recumbent upon a silk covered table by Henry Hugh Armstead RA (London 18 June 1828 – 4 December 1905 London). Signed “Hugh Armstead” and dated “1866”. The oil is clearly partly inspired by Sir Edwin Landseer RA, (1802-1873) earlier, 1845 Royal Academy exhibit of the King Charles Spaniels (also known as the “The Cavalier’s Hat” / “The Cavalier’s Pets”). The reverse bears a Richard Green 44, Dover Street, London, W1X 4JQ label “Henry Hugh ARMSTEAD - A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Signed and dated “1866 – Panel: 12 ˝ x 14 ˝ in – AK305 (Stock Number).

A rare pair of Regency, 19th Century Regency period bronze and ormolu candlesticks modelled as seated begging King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, the bases applied with appliqu's of Chinese musician appliqu's sitting on anthemion decorated plinths supported on scrolled bracket feet. English, circa 1830.

18 ) Engraving of "Beauty's Bath" by Samuel Cousins RA (1801-1887), after Sir Edwin Landseer RA(1802-1873)
Engraving was published 1847 by Henry Graves, by the engraver Samuel Cousins RA (1801-1887), after the oil was titled "Beauty's Bath" painted in 1839 by Sir Edwin Landseer (1802-1873) , for Sir Robert Peel, twice British Prime Minister. This is the artist's proof before letters signed in pencil 'E Landseer' and 'Samuel Cousins' further initialled 'EL' with another indecipherable penciled initial. The painting is of Sir Robert Peels's daughter "Miss Elise (Elizabeth) Peel" cuddling her King Charles Cavalier "Fido". (On her marriage she became The Hon. Mrs Francis Stonor).
