Oil on canvas of a head study of red Gordon Setter in landscape by Gertude L Whelpton (English, 1867–1963). Signed and dated bottom left “G. L Whelpton 1919” Exhibition label to the reverse “Portrait of Paddy Gordon Setter 3 guineas”. Historically interesting, this would seem to be a rare red coloured Gordon Setter, in such livery sometimes confused with the Irish Setter.
