1 ) The Smooth Fox Terrier "Ch Captain Double" (K.C.SB. 988H) by Arthur Wardle R.I., R.B.C. (English, 1864-1949)
An oil on board of the Smooth Fox Terrier Champion Captain Double by Arthur Wardle, R.I., R.B.C. (English, 1864-1949). Signed on the left “Arthur Wardle”. To the reverse in pencil “Champion Captain Double painted by Arthur Wardle April 1904”. “Captain Double” the property of Smooth Fox Terrier fancier Mrs J H Brown was sired by D’Orsay Double, dammed, Cherry Brandy, and registered K.C.SB. 988H. English, circa 1907. The Smooth Fox Terrier - A Complete Anthology of the Dog writes “Ladies have been supporters of the breed .... Mrs. J. H. Brown, too, as owner of Captain Double, a terrier which has won, and deservedly, more prizes than any Fox-terrier now or in the past, must not be omitted”. Signed bottom left “Arthur Wardle”. 3 ) Photogravure of “Queen Alexandra her Grandchildren and dogs” published 1905 by C.W.Faulkner, after the original painting by Frederick Morgan (English, 1856 -1927) and Thomas Blinks (English, 1860-1912).
A photogravure of Queen Alexandra (1844 – 1925), Danish born wife of King Edward VII of England feeding her dogs a Borzoi, Scottish Deerhound, Four Collies, Schipperke and two Bassett hounds & pup, sugar lumps from a basket on her arm, besides the Royal kennels at Sandringham House. She is accompanied by Princess Mary Windsor (later The Princess Royal) 1897 -1965 beside her at right, Princes Albert George (later King George VI) 1895 -1952 and David Edward (later King Edward VIII) 1894 -1972 at her left, the keeper standing in the trees behind them at right, beyond at left a further man opens a gate to let another Collie join the group. Published 1905 by C.W.Faulkner and Co., after the original painting by Frederick Morgan (English, 1856 -1927) and Thomas Blinks (English, 1860-1912).

4 ) “Mac” the West Highland Terrier, drawing by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin RBA (English, 1870-1935)
A rare preparatory drawing on ivorine by Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin RBA (English, 1870-1935), of “Mac” his beloved West Highland Terrier published 1934 by Eyre & Spottiswoode in Aldin’s “Just Among Friends”. Signed and dedicated bottom right “from Cecil Aldin to Adele Astaire”. The reverse bears interesting pencil note “71/3 wide deep etch note artists instruction”. Lady Charles Cavendish Adele Astaire (American, 1896-1981) was Fred Astaire’s famous elder sister, and his partner in a 27-year career in vaudeville and theatre, beginning when he was five and she was eight. English, 1934.

7 ) An American gold set enamel and diamond Boston Terrier tie / stick pin.
A 14 carat gold set enamel head study of a Boston Terrier set with old cut diamond eyes. The reverse of the stick pin is marked “14K”. Such work was made in Newark New Jersey, by the likes of Henry Blank & Co., A.J. Hedges, Krementz & Co, Rilker Brothers etc.... American circa 1915.
