An Edwardian silver paper weight of a Pomeranian standing on a concave silver base. Assayed on the base London 1901, and stamped with an indecipherable silversmith mark. English, 1910.

An English 1920’s silver Pomeranian standing on a green marble base, modelled as a paperweight. Ruby glass eyes. Assayed on the tail London 1923 with the London makers mark of John Henry Hill. English 1923.

Oil on canvas of a white standing Pomeranian dressed with silk blue bow on oriental carpet before velvet curtains by Ethel Lavinia Tanner(b.1881). The blue bow suggests that this Pomeranian was a pet. Interesting in Miss Ives book “Show Pomeranians” (1911) she writes “Don’t take a dog in the ring with a ribbon bow on, or a bow of any kind, or a mark of identification of any description. The bow stamps the exhibitor as a tyro”. Signed and dated "E L TANNER 1919". English, 1919

Oil on canvas of a white recumbent Pomeranian dressed with blue bow by Ethel Lavinia Tanner (b.1881). The blue bow suggests that this Pomeranian was a pet. Interesting in Miss Ives book “Show Pomeranians” (1911) she writes “Don’t take a dog in the ring with a ribbon bow on, or a bow of any kind, or a mark of identification of any description. The bow stamps the exhibitor as a tyro”. Vivienne Peterson writes of the dog “clearly of good breeding typical of Poms from Miss Hamilton’s Rozelle kennel or Miss Chell’s Belper line. Miss Hamilton lived at Batheaston until her death in 1918 andc Miss Chell lived in Derbyshire”. English, Circa 1920. SOLD
