A pair of oil of Royal Mail coaches in deep snow landscapes by Henry Thomas Alken Snr. (English, 1785 – 1851). The coaches fully laden, wear the correct Royal Mail livery, black with red door and lower panels, Post Office red wheels, and The Royal Coat of Arms on the door with the name of the town at the end of the coach’s route.

A mid 19th century oil on canvas of a Royal Mail progressing at speed at night by Charles Cooper Henderson (English, 1803-1877). The coach wearing the correct Royal Mail livery, black with red door and lower panels, Post Office red wheels, and The Royal Coat of Arms on the door. Signed with discreet monogram to one of the packages on the roof "CH". Complete in original Hay & Lyall gilt frame. The reverse bears the remnants of the framer’s label “Hay & Lyall, Decorators, Carvers, Gilders & Printsellers to the Queen, 73 Union Street Aberdeen, established 1811”. Hay received his Royal Appointment as Carver & Gilder to Queen Victoria at Aberdeen in 1846. English, circa 1850.

A 19th century bronze Maltese extendable fire irons / chenets. Each end mounted with seated ormolu bronze Maltese dogs, on plinths with Louis XV decoration of scrolled feet and neoclassical faces, the central one being a sphinx. One dog rests their paw on a ball. The dog sculptures are modelled on the dog "Ninette" for Pierre-Jacques-Onésyme Bergeret de Grandcourt at the end of the 18th century.
