An oil painting depicting the head of a dapple grey horse, inquisitive with a pair of fawn Pugs by Julius von Blaas (Italian / Austrian 1845–1923). Signed and dated top left “Julius von Blaas 1884”. The reverse bears gallery label for Colin Stodgell Fine Art , 2B Pavor Road Torquay. A similar composition by von Blaas was sold at Bonhams New York “Dogs In Show And Field” on 17th February 2016, lot 154.
