A watercolour on ivory of a head and shoulders study of Mr Stuart’s “Gavrila”, a harlequin Great Dane. Signed and dated bottom right “Iziedinoff 36”. To the reverse in ink “ ‘Gavrila’ a Mr Stuart par George Iziedinoff 43 13ḏ Exelmans Paris 16 ème” Russian 1936.

A circa 1930's pen and ink humorous canine dog / Harlequin Great Dane by Vincenzo (Vincent) Maria Zito (European/American 1900-1966). The captions reading "I could kill you with love", "I love you to death", "Don't worry, you are not my type" and "You have nothing to worry about!". Signed bottom right "Zito". Zito was famous for his 1937 publication of cartoons 'Dogs', published by Chesterfield Publication of New York.
