An oval oil on board oil of a head and shoulders study of a Briard by oard, (approximately 18 x 14 inches). Signed and dated bottom right “Vincent-Anglade_23”. French 1923.

A mid 19th century oval oil on panel of a head study of a black Briard by Louis-Joseph Rossy (French, b1817). Framed in its original gilt oval frame. Signed and dated in red bottom right Rossy 1858 The artist was born in the northern France, in the town of Valenciennes, the Briard would have been familiar to the artist and perhaps a breed he fancied or owned.

Coloured lithograph of a head study of pair of Briards by Lon Danchin (French, 1887-1938). Limited to 300 impressions and published by Devambez et Associ's of 43 boulevard Malesherbes, Paris. Danchin entrusted Edouard Devambez and his partner Georges Weil to publish his work from 1925 to 1932, with the lithographs usually limited from 300 to 400 editions. Signed in pencil "Lon Danchin" and numbered "92/300". Once the required number of prints was reached, the copper plate was scratched and discarded.
