A rare and important, 19th century, ovoid, Persian influence, finely enamelled elephant head handles jardinière / ‘cache-pot’ with geometric, lambrequin and floral decoration by Théodore Deck for Jules Viellard & Cie of Bordeaux. French, circa 1880. A variant of this jardinière model is illustrated in Jacqueline du Pasquier 2015 book "Vieillard & Cie, Histoire de la faïencerie fine de Bordeaux", plate 51, page 77.

A 19th century, Rhyton, fox head bronze vase with the foundry mark of Maison Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810 – 1892) for Louis-Constant Sévin (French, 1821-1888) with the foundry mark of Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810 – 1892). It is from 1862 and there is a silvered bronze version in the Orsay Museum, Paris, that same year the model was exhibited World’s Fair.

A very unusual 19th century French cast iron boar handled vase, enamelled to imitate porphyry and marble, after Claude Ballin (Paris, 1615-1678), Louis XIV’S goldsmith. The handles cast with Janus heads and boars' masks, the sides with shells, Greek key and oak leaf decoration, on waisted fluted stems and square platform bases.

French, circa 1850 Lépaulle schooled at the prestigious l’École des Beaux-Arts, exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1824 onwards, and the Universal Exhibition of 1855, then today his work can be seen in museums in Paris, Versailles, Victoria Museum in London and The Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, MA.

A pair of 18 carat gold mother of pearl backed reverse intaglio Greyhound crystal cufflinks. Each cufflink carved with a different image of the Greyhound in coursing motion. The idea clearly derived from Eadweard Muybridge’s study of the Greyhound’s gait, conducted as part of his very famous study of various animals in motion, ca. 1878–1879. Muybridge’s work changed how artists painted the likes of Greyhounds and horses in motion. Very unusual crystals, clearly commissioned by a very proud owner. Marked to the bar and ring “18ct”, with further indecipherable poinçon marks. Complete with original gilt tooled leather box. French, circa 1885

Circa 1860 and after Queen Victoria's painting of Dash, her favourite Spaniel, by Sir Edwin Landseer "The Royal Collection" today holds a substantial number of enamels by William Essex. The enamel set into a rope design setting. Signed to the reverse and dated “W. ESSEX.186?”. English circa 1860.

A hexagonal bronze of Pointer and Setter in tree planted landscape pointing setting Partridge, hiding in wheat, retailed by James Muirhead and Son of Glasgow. The image inspired Pierre-Jules Mne, The Partridge Hunt / Chasse la perdrix. Stamped to the reverse JAS. MUIRHEAD & SONS GLASGOW. Muirhead were known to have a Paris agent to source and purchase the very best art coming to the market. In fact they some objects were marked Jas. Muirhead & Sons Paris. French, circa 1880.

A 19th century oil on canvas of a pair of harnessed Hackney Carriage horses and terrier within a stable yard Albert Clark (English, 1843 – 1892). The horse wearing bridle, collar,saddle, bellyband all highly decorated with gilt fittings. Signed, in red, bottom left. English, circa 1860. Albert Clark was regularly commissioned to produce paintings of race horses, shire horse and such carriage horses. As a London equestrian and local to the Islington Agricultural Hall, Albert Clark also had the accolade of producing portraits for the Islington Horse Show prize winners.
