A “Marble Hill Gallery 72 Richmond Road Twickenham Middx” label to the reverse reads “C Ambler. The Two Friends, pencil and coloured mashes, heightened with white. Lived in Buckhurst Hill Esses , Exhibited two works at the Royal Academy between 1912-1914.” With stock number “P926ms”.

Clearly the West Highland Terrier does not impress his 13 friends "Bearded Collie, Carn Terrier, Beddlington Terrier, German Sheppard, Wire-Haired Fox Terrier, St.Bernard, Rough Collie, Bull Terrier, Pekingese, Scottish Terrier, West Highland Terrier, Dalmatian and Sealyham.

Coloured print, on plate sunk mounts, by Christopher Gifford Ambler and titled "HE, SHE AND THE HUSSY". The others being "Ceaser's Wife, "Ishmael" and "Who's top dog now". It is one of four of a Bull Terrier series published by Illustrated Newspapers Ltd.in 1935, and marketed through "The Tatler" then at a price of "5/-". Copies pencil signed by the artist Christopher Gifford Ambler were "10/-". The titles being "Ceaser's Wife, "Ishmael" and "Who's top dog now".
